kitchen update 4

The bottom cabinet boxes are installed. The top cabinets are getting the doors installed. Here are a few pictures of where we are in the process.

kitchen update 3

We have all the bottom cabinets and the sink taken out. The bottom cabinets are going in today and that will be about end of the long weekend at this house. I now have stuff stored in my daughter's room, her closet, and the bathroom. I dug out the camping wash basins for dishes and we are adjusting to not having a kitchen sink or prep area. Below are pictures of the progress.

making progress

We now have the upper cabinet boxes up. That was a lot of work and I was needed to help with this. My 2 year old also made a few large messes in a short amount of time, so I had clean up work to do also. There is still a LOT left today, but it feels great to be making progress.

The bottom cabinets are being assembled and will be stained by the end of the day!

Here's some pictures of the progress:

crazy kitchen/crazy house

"Where is....?" is the most common phrase when it comes to the kitchen. Right now my answer is "I have no idea". We have completely taken out the upper cabinets and the counter tops were also cleaned off. I am using almost every available space in the house. I have food, dishes, and appliances in almost every room in the house. The exceptions are: the bathroom and my daughter's room. I am considering using my daughter's closet when I have to clean out the bottom cabinets. I will soon be using my bathroom sink to wash dishes.

We will have the upper cabinets up soon and that will help some. Unfortunately, it will be a little while before I have shelves in the cabinet, so space will be limited..

Below are some pictures of the craziness and my "organization" in the kitchen.

Right before the cabinets were taken out. I have to use the table for some storage, which is difficult with a 2 yr old

Kitchen update part 2

I have not been keeping up with the kitchen pictures or updates. My husband has been very busy working on the cabinets. We've taken down one section. There are a few cabinets that are almost completely assembled and will hopefully be installed this weekend.

Here's some pictures of the process:
Helping daddy glue pieces together

The hole where some of my upper cabinets were

The old cabinets and the clutter in my kitchen

The nice wall after the cabinets were removed

The cabinet doors with the varnish and a few coats of polyurethane (we will have to put more on after they are installed)

one of the cabinet "boxes" it still needs to be sanded and stained

We also brought home a couple tiles to see how well they stand up to our busy kitchen. More on that later. We also picked out a sink (though we have not purchased it yet)
